The Scout Rifle Concept
The Scout Rifle concept is the successful
result of the efforts of many under the leadership of Colonel Cooper to build a better
rifle. The Scout Rifle concept describes a light weight, carbine length, general purpose
rifle chambered in .308 Winchester with a high quality scope mounted far forward.
Prototypes of this weapon have been made over the years, but recently Steyr finally begun
to production this fine concept weapon.

About Jeff Cooper
|
| If you are a gun person, and you don't know
about Jeff Cooper, it's high time you did. Jeff served as a United States Marine in
both World War II and Korea. He is the author of many books about shooting, and taught for
many years as a professor of history. Jeff was a devoted advocate of the use of the
1911 pistol. His efforts are responsible for the what is now known as the "modern
technique" of defensive shooting. Jeff Cooper's leadership also led to the
development of the "Scout Rifle" (see notes below). Jeff truly is
one of the best. |
